Walk More!
Incorporating more walking into your daily routine will help you get into shape. Research shows that regular "lifestyle" activity, such as walking, will improve health and help weight management and this is supported by changes my clients have enjoyed. One client, who was training about twice a week, started walking to her girls’ school and back each morning (20 minutes round trip), and another client has recently had to walk to the train each morning due to change in bus times (also 20 minutes per day). Both these women have lost weight, helping them fit into clothes more easily, without increasing the amount of actual "fitness training" they were doing.
Why? The 20 minute walk each day burns an extra 125 kcals, which 5 days per week adds up to a significant amount over time. By adding the physical activity into your routine your metabolism is given a little boost each day, helping you to shed some excess fat and stay in shape.
