Is Your Moisturiser Ageing You?
Many moisturising or anti-aging creams contain the chemicals glycolic acid or salicyclic acid. These acids remove the top layer of skin, creating a fresh clean look which gives the appearance of good health.
However scientists at Jefferson University’s US National Center for Toxicological Research suggest that long term regular use of these creams is potentially harmful as UV light will be able to reach the skin’s deeper layers.
My advice is read carefully the ingredients on your moisturiser and then decide if you want to carry on using it or not. It may be best to change so an aqueous only moisturiser cream with no chemicals.
