Blood Pressure
If you (or anyone you know) needs to try to manage blood pressure (BP), then here are some drug free methods.
1. Increase Calcium intake. Dietary calcium intake and low/normal blood pressure are related, and Calcium supplements of 1000 mg per day can reduce BP by 4-6 points in those with high BP.
2. Increase fibre intake. Extra fibre and regular fruits and vegetables has been proven to reduce BP by 4-8 points in those with high BP.
3. Increase water intake. If you are dehydrated your blood volume is reduces and your blood vessels constrict. As a result BP can rise. Keep fully hydrated to reduce BP.
4. Manage stress. A great deal of evidence shows that relaxation techniques and yoga performed regularly can reduce BP by 4-6 points in mildly high BP patients
