Can We Change Our Body Shape?

 

There are basically only two things you can do to change the appearance of your body:
1. Raise or lower your fat percentage.
2. Increase or decrease the amount of lean tissue (muscle) in the body.
Contrary to what you might have heard, fat does not turn into muscle and vice versa, fat cells are fat cells and muscle is muscle!

We all have different body shapes and sizes, and it is possible to change your appearance within certain parameters but our basic shape is who we are. For example if a woman is ‘pear shaped’, she will always have that basic wide hip shape.

 

Aspiring to have a certain celebrities or sportsman’s physique is ultimately fruitless as we are all different. What we can do is decrease our fat percentage through exercise and calorie control and also work on certain muscle groups in the body to increase muscle size and definition to those areas.

 

Bottom Line – Ignore media ideals of a certain individual’s physique but instead realise your what own shape is and be the best version of you possible through regular cardio exercise and working on those muscles groups you want to improve.
